BLACKBIRD RECORDS

Blackbird Records are home to THE ORANGE LIGHTS.

Pop music comes from many different places. Some of it comes from happy accidents; a lot of it comes from the programmed, laboratory environment of a hit factory. Very occasionally, great pop music comes from somewhere deeper within the soul. So it is with The Orange Lights. Their epic, widescreen guitar soul has melodies that scare the sky and words that come laden with meaning and tug at the heartstrings. One listen and there's every chance you'll be hooked.

The tracks are ideal for film sound-track, , TV and Advertising.

SUNDAY BEST
Sbest logo blue yellow_72dpi

Rob da Bank founded Sunday Best in February 1995. Originally it was a weekly Sunday night leftfield club hosted under the centuries-old beams of south London's 'Tearooms des Artistes' with an ethos based on an anything goes musical policy plus mind blowing hallucinogenic visuals, scrummy food, beer and cocktails.

In 1997 Rob wanted an outlet for some of the amazing music he was hearing… and Sunday Best Recordings was born!  The label in the early days was best known for releasing groundbreaking eclectic compilations that introduced the world to then unknown artists such as Groove Armada, Lemon Jelly and Bent.  Since 2002 Sunday Best's line up has expanded significantly to feature an eclectic roster of talented artists across a plethora of genres.  More recent artists include Dub Pistols, Max Sedgley, Sportsday Megaphone & Kitty, Daisy & Lewis…

We still throw blindingly good parties too!  And organise the highly acclaimed Bestival 3 day festival.  It has been voted 'Best Medium-sized Festival' at the UK Festival Awards in 2005, 2006 and 2007 - as voted for by real festival go-ers!  Check www.bestival.net for the full lo-down.

Sunday Best head-hippy Rob da Bank also presents two radio shows on BBC Radio 1.  Head over to

TECHNOSTALGIC TUNES
sundae clubTechnostalgic Tunes is the home of Sundae Club, a collaboration between multi-instrumentalists and instrument collectors Hamstall Ridware (aka Colin Crawford) and Dr CD Mille (aka George Shilling). Colin has a degree in Musical Instrument Technology, and George has produced, engineered or performed on recordings with Steve Winwood, Bernard Butler, OperaBabes and many others. They are best known for inventing their own genre “Technostalgia” which combines laid back beats with sometimes daft, often evocative noises using older technology, including theremins, vocoders and rusty organs. They have amassed a catalogue of music suitable for adverts and TV use, and can compose fresh material to order at short notice in their exceptionally equipped studio. Their compositions have been used by GMTV, HIT Entertainment and Warner Bros/CBS/Channel 4. Click here for audio samples of BEECHLEAVES and CONSTANT RAINCHECK
